Do these play nice?
Looking for a Bluetooth HRM to link up with iPad for turbo sessions, outside of the garage needs to link up with my 520 but I've read a few people have had issues.
edit: Is it a case of Bluetooth to iOS, but use Ant+ to connect it to the Garmin?

Yup it's dual band and dual transmission (IE it can do BT and Ant+ at the same time) I have mine connected to a Polar via BT and Garmin via Ant+ at exactly the same time without any issues at all.
