yup.... after umming and arring and then cancelling my big bike i've gone and picked up a new Boardman FS Comp.
i've justified it by saying that it is for the GF, which it is, but i'm sure i'll use for more mundane rides occasionally.
i ordered the bike on friday and it arrived at the store today. the fork was damaged so the guy at Halfords - who were very good to deal with - swapped it with one of the display bikes. good-o, i thought. the guy then showed me the damaged fork and said that he'll now need to discount the bike.
bugger. it's only cosmetic damage and only visible when you turn the bik on its head. i would have been more than happy to have taken it at a reduced rate, but the manager didn't want the hassle of swapping it back again. fair enough.
so there is a medium FS Comp at Chelmsford store going cheap(er) than normal, if you're interested. oh, and if you google "halfords voucher code" you'll be able to get another £100 off the RRP.
flying home tonight so the bike is still boxed. obligatory pics will be posted tomorrow....
