Colmar is worth a visit and the surrounding villages Ribeauville,
Kaysersberg and Riquewihr are Quaint. All the riding in that side of Vosges is in the Regional natural Parc Ballons de Vosges - MOST in forest. Should be some GR tracks you could follow have a search on GR site Tony.

I just got back from a press trip there. There's nice riding around there, like natural stuff. The Lac Blanc bike park was a lot of fun. I think it would be entertaining for a couple of days, probably no more.

Really nice white wines around there! And there was a dark beer, can't remember the name but it was local-ish that was really, really good.

The route des ballons is a road that runs along the tops - be exceptional for road riding I would have thought. Even just driving is nice.
The monastery on Mt St Odile is a good place to visit - some great hiking around there but there's great hiking throughout the Vosges.

Done most of my MTBing around La Bresse and Bussang - beautiful woodland riding but suffered from lack of local knowledge - the VTT route cards you can get aren't that interesting (although the black routes are **** difficult fitness wise).

strasbourg is awesome... Plus riding around is ace, as three of rather famous French people would attest ๐Ÿ˜‰

ton - when are you going? I'll be going to Lac Blanc from time to time as it's one of my closest bike parks (close being relative but it's still a day-trip). I drove through the Vosges on the way back from Germany a month or so back and it's beautiful.

Don't ignore Luxembourg though, the country is fantastic (plenty of riding on and off road, plenty of beautiful towns, rivers, lakes etc as well as quite good wine) and the city is a great place to stop if you're heading further south.
