Just went to my LBS and they quote prices as this and just want to no if they are fair?
£17 to shorten my new magura brake lines by a couple of cms
£20 to remove and fit new forks
£10 to sort the gears as they pop out of most of them lol
whats your thoughts?
they seem about right to me - although they aren't tough jobs tbh. Get the bike book for £9.99 and DIY
yes i no what you mean but its the buying of the tools which are expensive, i went to buy a hacksaw the do the forks and was £10 lol i can get it fitted for near that.
brakes seem to be dear tho?
might look into getting the book tho... cheers
All of those jobs are do able at home and the brakes wont even need bleeding if your quick.
Junior Hacksaw is 2 quid.
You tube will have online tutorials for everything. Magura site will most likely have a video of the brake line cut and indexing gears is a job you need to learn how to do.
im in austria, i have looked everywhere! the cheapest i found is 11 euro lol
i wil look on the magura site....have a quick look and didnt see anything,.
Seem reasonable to me.
Getting someone to do a job you can do yourself is always expensive, but then...
