DX get a cheap up to date bike light for £50 it may be cheaper in the long run

only cost me £100 so not to much of an issue. Output is fine, twas an idle musing

What LEDs are in it? If it has luxeons then replaceing them with crees to double the output is easy

crees - 480 lumen output (theoretical)

No point then. the latest brightest MCEs / P7s or whatever they are called need different drivers.
