As above really - I use a Troute Liberator as my main light but on a ride tonight was wondering whether it would be possible to upgrade my Cateye Double Shot Pro with more effective XPGs or XMLs?
The Cateye works well with a reasonable spot beam - just wondering whether any of the light gurus on here had any idea of viability of a tech update?

there was a chap used to offer updates for these lamps but that was a few years ago and I suspect things have moved on since then.

there's a few people on here (inc troute) who'll look at changing led's for you - have you contacted him?

Chris, any thoughts? I'm guessing that your hands are full with an autumn production run on the cutie?

That sounds promising swamping - did you need to upgrade the battery as well?

email trout

as he has done convertions on heaps of different lights, below is a link to a cat eye trippleshot he modded over on mtbr forum

http://forums.mtbr.com/lights-diy-do-yourself/1800-lumen-cateye-tripleshot-608544.html

while i realise this is not the same light as yours i'm sure he would be able to advise what is possible.

That's great news. I'll leave it until October / November eh? When you get over the new seasons rush.
