Need a saddle for the cargo bike.

Both me n the wife will use it . Mostly in casual clothes rather than cycling clothes

If it was me I'd just fit a brooks b17 and be done how ever I'm sure the wife would ride it more than once..

Any one seen anything that might be useful - and I don't mean one of them big padded things off an exercise bike !

Charge ladle?

Put one on my gf's bike and it's been comfy enough anytime I've cycled it - probably because it's so similar to the charge spoon.

WTB Deva?
Lots of good reviews, most from people who don't seem to realise it's marketed as a women's saddle.

Wideish and flattish, seems to suit quite a few people.

I have a charge ladle in my bag of saddles I must get around to selling.

In the bag is also a
charge spoon - not to bad for my girlie bum
genesis saddle that came on my croix de fer (brown) felt ok at first but after a few weeks I got hip ache
A couple of girls selle Italia diva saddles - wouldn't really work on a cargo bike!)
Let me know if any interest you - looking for £10 a piece.

On the bikes atm I have a ladies brooks cambium - brilliant! And a fizik donna one on the croix de fer - again brilliant but maybe not for a cargo bike.

are you sure you need to worry about mens or womens versions? Only one of my saddles is womens specific and that's because I've just bought a womens specific road bike. Other than that I'm not at all phased by the fit of them. Why not try one of the 'demo saddle' schemes and you both try it.

For a cargo bike, that presumably won't be doing big mileage, just get a big padded thing.

My cargo bike has some big old sofa of a saddle on it, it's perfect for the 2 miles to the shops in normal clothes but I'd not want to ride any real distance on it.

its 9 miles to the shop and 3 miles to the pub lunge - the cargo bike in question is electric assisted.

Golfchick - i know from previous experiance of hire bikes that mrs T-r and most mens saddles dont mix.

More likely ill just have to suffer - although tbh im pretty tollerant - but i do know her deva and the madison womans thing she loves are both horrific for me.

Spare seatpost with a saddle? Just swap it to the one you want in about 30seconds.

It's just sit bone width. The marketing makes a binary division, but the biological average of women generally having slightly wider pelvises isn't absolute. "Women's specific" saddles will tend to be a bit wider, but there are people of all genders who'll get on better with those saddles and others who'll get on better with narrower ones (my gf and I seem to favour the same saddle widths).

Fabric (formerly Charge, but they changed name so they could sell finishing kit to other bike companies) would be a good company to start with, they do 134, 142 and 155mm wide saddles with various profiles. If there's one that'll fit you both, it'll almost certainly be in their range.

wot wiggles said. On-one twelfty or similar.

It's what I do when I pinch the wife's bike for occasional safety checks. She does same with mine. Helps seat tubes are all 27.2.

not wishing to be aukward with that one but i dont want to buy a second USE XCR suspension seat post .... .because its a long tail when loaded its akin to riding a tandem - it will batter the shit out of you without one IME

Ill have a look at some of the charge ones maybe get one thats between the one my wife uses and the one i use widthwise and take it from there.

N +1 for cargo bikes - i like it ghostly machine.

Its more an experiment at the moment. getting rid of the van.

going back to 1 car and the cargo bike is the replacement for the trips where you take the car as your getting the shopping in and panniers are too small for the task - or you need to pick up a parcel at the post office and the hit and miss of the packaging CRC and amazon etc use means you may end up riding home with it under your arm etc.....

One saddle i've seen used both by men and women quite successfully is the fizik vitesse. A guy i race with here uses it to great success on his MTB, and a couple of women i ride with use them both on and off road.
