I've just stumbled across the Trinity House website and have spent a happy half hour learning about lighthouses.

http://www.trinityhouse.co.uk/lighthouses/lighthouse_list/index.html

Anyone else got any suggestions for sites which could be dull as dishwater but which go the extra mile?

I found these two after they came up on the weekly photo challenge.

Two things you can regularly ride past without giving them a second thought, but which actually have some intersting history behind them.

http://www.secret-bases.co.uk/ has some good stuff in it once you get past the dreadful layout of the site and the million adverts all over it.

Cabin Porn is great - some very aspirational stuff on there ...

Added to which http://www.trailporn.com/ can only add to the beard / exploration desire.

Actually, as can the pictures on Big Wheel Building.
