Rear cassette (105) needs replacing after 3 years.
what do you reckon on:
A: 105 5600 10sp cassette CRC £37 or
B: Ultegra 6600 10sp cassette CRC £45
Is it just weight or any diff in longevity or shifting performance - the rest of my groupset is 105. Cheers 🙂
Don't know about longevity but they both weigh exactly the same.
105 is bright finish, Ultegra is nickel finish.
TBH the 105 is probably better value for money.
Quite happy to go for the cheaper option - if there is not weight difference then is just down to shifting and longevity - anyone got any experience with the two? ( thanks colemman BTW) 🙂
Ive got and used both, dont seem any differnt to me, if they're the same weight-save the cash and buy yourself a bottle of wine. 🙂
I just made this choice when my Dura Ace cassette wore out and I wasn't prepared to shell out £150 for a new one.
As far as I can tell the Ultegra and 105 are exactly the same except for the configurations offered. The weights are the same, the construction is the same, they even look identical on the shimano website. Parker do the 105 for £35 so I went for that.
The only difference I can see between the new 105 and the old DA are the titanium upper sprockets which presumably accounts for the 40g of weight. Seems to shift just as well as the old one.
brill thanks guys - i'll have a look at parker then.
