Uberbike BB92 GXP Spacer Problems

I've finally got round to replacing my (9 years old!) original Sram GXP BB for a press-fit Uberbike.ย  After following the instructions my chain line is out by ~3mm.ย  Has anyone had problems with these before?

Instructions state for a 92mm shell:

  • Non-Drive Side: No spacers
  • Drive-Side: 1mm spacer for the cup, and a 2.5 washer between the bearing and the crank.

My chainline is now 52mm* which would be perfect, except it's a non-boost frame and the chain drops on pedalling backwards.ย  Unless I'm missing something those instructions don't seem right.

Dropping the 2.5mm crank washer would probably solve it nicely.ย  But it'd need the 2.5mm spacer inserted on the Non-drive side cup to balance out.ย  And even with my BBT-90.3 I'd rather avoid the risk of bashing out soft plastic cups to reinsert.

* Note: I've already got my chainring shimmed inwards on 2mm washers as a 1x conversion, so I can't easily add another 2mm to that without extra long chainring bolts.
