I need help.
I have had two weekends of puncture hell. At the London Brighton off road I had 2 punctures and was on for a 5.30 time.
Then this weekend at the SPAM Blast, which by the way was a great ride, well at least the 46 miles I managed to do until I had to retire, 4 rear punctures, and then a huge split over an inch on the front.
I've been running a Maxxis high roller on the rear and a Bontranger Jones tubeless on the front. The Bont, tubeless took nearly 20 mins to get off this evening
Any suggestions, I ride regularly Surrey HIlls, Salisbury PLain, South Downs, so a mixture of terrain. Happy to pay. Bit if money if it manages to keep me on the bike rather than off it.
Sealant?
A decent tubeless repair kit helps - a small slug of foam strip shoved in the puncture hole tends to help the sealant do it's job too. Can be fitted in seconds.
2nd tubeless - I also did London to Brighton off road and pulled out an inch long thorn when I got back. Small dribble of wheel milk at hole and then it sealed. I was amazed at the number of punctures at the side of the route.
Reinforced parcel tape from ebay to seal and then RJA wheel milk.
