MegaSack DRAW - 6pm Christmas Eve - LIVE on our YouTube Channel
Abigale has entered the three Tweedlove Enduros, Looking to get somewhere near to the start, wherever that is so that once the camper is parked up we don't have to move it.
Any suggestions or recommendations?
I used Rossetti Holiday Park for the EWS. Not too bad. Showers / toilets ok. Staff very nice and helpful. Practically in the centre of Peebles. So 5 mins cycle to the main festival area. Or booked at Glentress plenty in advance.
Thanks, will have a look when we are up after Christmas. Ideally we would have liked to be at the Glentress campsite but if the events start in the town it makes more sense for Abigale to be located near and less hassle trying to park the camper.
It's a 5 minute warm up cycle from the Glentress campsite to the centre of peebles, and the race hq may not be in the town centre. It wasn't for the K&Q race this year.
As Bob says, Glentress is no distance at all from the centre of Peebles so is arguably the best bet. This year the EWS event was based in Peebles, King & Queen was at GT, and Vallelulja started in Selkirk!
The Rosetta site is a bit "Hi De Hi" to be honest
and Vallelulja started in Selkirk
It's already confirmed as Selkirk for 2016 aswell isn't it?
There is a campsite in Selkirk, actually where this years Enduro started from.

Thanks may end up on different sites for each event then. Website is a bit vague on where they are starting from.

Selkirk looked like the set of Mad Max
Just had an email saying that the Easter one is starting at Glentress
Word on the street is Vallehujah 2016 is not in Selkirk, Im still in 2 minds to enter this year.
From the email
At last year’s Vallelujah we were dealt some tricky weather and the trails handed out some challenging riding conditions around Yair and Selkirk. This year we’re planning a mystery tour of enduro trails with an event base at Glentress. Expect a course which takes you on a discovery tour of some new and old classics, with a few surprises thrown in.
Event registration will be at Glentress from 0830 on Sat 26 March, with practice all day. Race starts from 0830 on Sunday
Loved the stuff at Yair but the cycle on the road back to Selkirk was hellish

This might just swing it for me, last year was good fun but a bit of a lottery with the conditions, sounds this year may be good fun 🙂
Something to look forward to now the Ae Day and Night Enduro has been cancelled.

Sounds shit imo. Likely means all 3 races are Gt based, maybe with some Caberston thrown in for the two latter races

Aye but Im not doing the whole 3 this year 🙂 ...tbh it will be either this or Dunkeld which I enjoyed last year, need to make cut backs this year
Glentress is just minutes from Peebles, don't stress about that, it's literally a couple of minutes spin. (and tbh with the lack of competitor parking for all but the pros, I ended up parked miles away anyway!)
Not surprised about Selkirk, it was just not a good venue tbh, you need your race HQ to actually be somewhere near the race. Shame but you can't run a good race just anywhere, it needs more than great trails.
It'll be great tbh, if they can manage even half the larger-than-life feel of EWS and just keep riffing on the well proven tweed valley enduro theme- they've learned from the masters there really, some other organisers insist on trying to change the format and it almost never works.
Hopefully see Cademuir back in the mix
