[Closed] Turning a HT in to a CX'ish bike?

First off I don't want speed, I want a nice light bike that's easy to pedal for hours on end from my front door, you know, the roads to the woods/bridleways etc, & I'm not planing doing anything "rad" on it.

Starting point will be my Titus Fireline if I can?

The other thing is I don't want drop bars, I'm not a head down kind of chap, I like to take in the views & just embrace the outdoors.

So I think I need a kind of posh hybrid, what would you need to change on a HT to make it more of what I'm after? I was thinking the following...

Forks, check, I bought some rigid carbon ones from China.

Tyres, I really need some help with these, pref tubeless.

Wheels, is it worth changing the Hope/Stan's Crest to something lighter?

What else is important, gearing/ stem length ?

Your thoughts please.

Cheers.

I'd just change the tyres to whatever width you want, and forks if you want to lose weight and gain harshness. Longer stem if you feel the need - it's up to you how you want the bike to be.

I built this up as a lightweight alternative to my 456 for longer days out

Merlin frame which is a size too big for me, alloy forks, shimano mt55 wheels which I had already (not tried them tubeless yet) but they were light for the price, slx mech and 11-36 cassette, superstar 32 tooth NW ring (should have got a 34), cheap shimano brakes.
Didn't spend much and it weighs 10kg ish.

Thanks, it's the tyres I dont have a clue about, the rest I can work out, I guess I should of just started a "what tyre" thread ๐Ÿ˜‰
Looking at the Tripster thread I see people going on about the tyres, & I think I want something with knobs on the outside & a semi slick centre, but what tubeless tyre's are out there which are light'ish & meet the requirements?

Many thanks.

Kenda Happy Medium is possibly worth a look for tyres.

why not buy/build some cheapish cx wheels?
i use cx wheels in my orange P7, they fit fine, i use 32mm gatorskins, but could go a bit bigger no problem (P7 is designed for 26er wheels.)
it rolls well . . .

can you point me in the direction of the forks you got? I've got an old rockhopper frame thats dying for a new lease of life.

I wouldn't recommend them, but if you must know then look at my posting history.
