[Closed] Tubus racks - Vega vs Logo

Thinking about upgrading the rack on my new bike - a Kaffenback.

I have a rather tired, but not overally used Topeak super tourist DX that I could use, but the seat stay mouting struts have been bent into many different configuarions to fit various bikes that they no longer seem to offer the structural integrity I would like. That, and the fact that further extreme bending of said struts would be needed to clear the straddle wire of the canti brake on the Kaff.

Background over, I am looking at the Tubus racks and like the minimalist look of the Vega, but the lower mounting bar on the Logo is similar in positioning to the aforementioned DX - and is what I am used to.

Does anyone on here use either of these racks or can comment on the difference of mounting panniers on the upper rail (only rail on Vega) than on lower rail?

Now that was an overly long post!

I've got the Tubus Logo, I think its rather good. It replaced a Topeak rack that broke.

The lower mounting for the panniers is useful because it keeps them down out of the way of the top bit, which makes it easier to strap things to the top (eg rackpack or tent etc).
The only thing I don't like about it is the top platform is fairly narrow, which can make it tricky to attach my rackpack if its full (the straps aren't quite long enough).

Thanks for your input.

Im edging towards the logo, shame really, as I had just accepted the high price tag of the Vega (£50ish) and the Logo goes for approx 50% more! Oh the price we have to pay for steel! 😯
