Hi , going tubeless tonight , converting non tubeless rims. I have some rim liner superstar tape. Should I remove the green plastic tape that is currently on my wheel? And how many times should I go round the rim with the new tape?

Thanks!

Yes. Remove old style tape. Going round once is probably OK, it works for me, but twice for security, also good...up to you. Good luck

Remove the old tape, go round enough times so that your tyres of choice are a relatively tight fit therefore making them easier to inflate

Thanks so far.Sun inferno 25 . Have read they can be a bit dodgy with tubeless. Have HDs and RR new tyres. The superstar valves don't seem to quite fit the valve holes so maybe I have to drill that out a little?

Remove tape, clean rim well with isopropyl.

More layers of tape make the bead fit tighter, which might be a good or bad thing depending on your rim & tyre. I use two layers of Gorilla Tape on old Flows with Minion 2.4/2.5s - fitting & removal takes some muscle but they stay put.
