Going tubeless for the first time. Bought a bike with tubeless ready rims so I thought all I had to do was get some sealant and valves. Set up straightforward but sealant and air leaking from the join on both rims. Any ideas, help, tips on what I'm doing wrong? Thanks all

Did you tape the rims?

Have you fitted tape to the rims? Stans is best or if fancy Ghetto then Gorilla tape is great. Should seal any defects in the rims though ideally tubeless rims should be airtight!

There was rim tape. Looks like normal rim tape. Not having done this before I thought that would be suitable

It probably is normal rim tape, then.

Tubeless tape should cover the full width of the rim and be stuck tight to it (rather than loose like normal rim tape).
