Put a 1/8 inch slice in my tyre yesterday and I was expecting the Stans sealant to seal it but it didn't. Wasn't an open gash as there were still a fair few threads holding it together. Plenty of sealant in the tyre and had a load of bits in the sealant so presume it should've sealed. Put the hole at the bottom and allowed sealant to build up around it but it didn't seal just oozed out sealant. Sealant is 3.5 months old. What am I doing wrong?

After some swearing as I was in the biggest deluge of the ride I gave up and put a tube and pump decided it was going to stop working properly. Cue 10mins later and I've finally reinflated it. So looking for a new pump. Heard good things about the Lezyne range and they're nice and small. Looked at the attached as they fit within budget and pressure can cope with the road bike too. What's the difference? I'm thinking it's just the handle?

Any other pump suggestions before I hit buy it on eone of the attached?

Finally, given that I have a small hole in the tyre and would like to reseal it am I best of just using a puncture repair kit on it?

If there are visible lumps in the sealant then its probably past its best, I often remove a tyre to find liquid latex with a few islands of rubber bits floating in it.

No idea re:pump i just use old shite ones. For the tyre use a patch repair patch on the inside and go ride.

Topeak.

I currently have a Topeak Mini Blaster which was my first ever deviation from the Specialized pumps and found it horendous. Got just over a year out of it, internals are pretty worn

Re the pump I have one of these for a while and really rate it. http://www.wiggle.co.uk/lezyne-micro-floor-drive-hv-abs-pump-without-gauge/#more

Re the slash in the tyre patch it and it will be as good as new. I have had some gashes seal and others not. Have you got the tubeles repair kit? http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=7971 I have got the Panaracer one and rate that. Good for fixing holes so that the sealant can do its job when that are a bit to large.

I have used my pump on road tyres a few times and it has done the job.

I'm now saying towards getting the HV pump rather than the HP one. Wanted it for both bikes originally but may get something else at a later date for the road bike but for now a HP would be fine

It was the ones with connecting hoses I can vouch for, no idea.

ordered a Lezyne Classic in the end. Speaking to brother in law last night he said that he has the Pump I was after and ever time he undoes the flexi hose it takes the valve core out. Decision made as that would really bug me.
