I have a Ragley Trig and I've just noticed that there's a hole in the bottom of the bottom bracket shell.

Is this just a simple drainage hole or is it threaded to take a bottom bracket cable guide? I didn't have my glasses on at the time and the paint made it difficult to see if it was threaded.

I don't own a Trig but all my bikes have a hole in the bottom bracket shell. Some, like my Airdrop, come with one. Otherwise, I make one, carbon frames as well

The only time I don't is if the bottom bracket shell is complete like my Ibis. Everything else, water finds it's way down the seat tube or through cable ports on the down tube.

If it's going to get in, I might as well give it a way to get out again

Hmm, no holes there. Mine's a 2023 frame (white). I don't know if it's a new feature or just what the factory had to hand when they came to weld them.

It's not a great photo, but the only one I have to hand, you can just make out the hole. I'll have a closer look later.
