Tredz are currently stating 7 to 8 days to dispatch in stock items, surely they can do better than that.

Yep, they probably could.
But it's Tredz, be thankful if you receive it at all.

On a happier note, I ordered some brake cables from Slam69 yesterday evening, and they turned up this morning 😲

They’re in stock somewhere. It takes time to get it from that place (the distributor, maybe the manufacturer, maybe at the raw materials supplier..) to the place they dispatch from 😉

You buy from Tredz to get it cheap not to get it quick

Not even cheap, just in stock, allegedly.

Its almost as if there's a pandemic about and people are all ordering online whilst postal and courier services are struggling to meet demand during an already seasonally hectic time. 7-8 days. Outrageous!

It took a full week before they posted my item.

Can only speak from a Royal Mail point of view last 3 days Parcels hit a record for the time of year ever craziest year they have ever had and I have been there a while.

It’s this, you just have to factor it in.

TBF they do state if the item is with the supplier now. If it's in stock it usually is. (I have used them several times this year and they have delivered to the timescales quoted every time).

Christmas and new year plus a pandemic go figure what their reasons are

I struggle to believe that tredz were the only ones with stock.

Further more I refuse to believe anyone would choose to order from tredz unless they were the cheapest by am order of magnitude.

And even then if it's something needed rather than wanted your playing with fire.

And that's before we factor in Christmas/new year /pandemic /floods /snow /delivery backlogs caused by reduced services due to lack of vehicles (certainly locally with royal mail this is the case

Tredz are rubbish, the only retailer I refuse to use.

I ordered various items a couple of years ago, the whole order was held back until they eventually admitted the in stock tyres would be delivered in two months.

Took lots of back and forth to sort out refunds/staged delivery.

I think my tyres were 'in stock'...at the rubber plantation...

They've probably got a backlog of orders, most online places will have given shops are shut for most of the UK and there were only 3 working days this week. At least they are not just taking orders without telling you.

Trail_rat I'm gonna guess Oury v2 grips are in that order, not really a struggle to believe seeing as nobody else stocks them and he mentioned them in a previous post.
All my recent orders from several shops have actually arrived in less than half that time, so 8 days just to pick something off a shelf and put in a padded envelope is a bit much, judging by above comments they're not popular enough to be snowed under.

I've ordered from Tredz before and its been fine. Its probably just the time of year and delivery companies catching up.

I placed an order from 2 other places last weekend and still waiting but expected it to be slow this time of year.

Similarly I too have ordered from Tredz before (several times) and it’s been fine. It is probably just the time of year, crap winter conditions, Wales being locked down and delivery companies catching up with Christmas sales etc

No, they sell stuff that's in stock at the distributor, and not ready for despatch.

Ah, this thread probably explains why they were the only place i could find a set of 100% brisker gloves 'in stock' last night.. ah well if they arrive they arrive

I have no problem with Tredz. Fine, not the fastest, but they’re fine.

Has it actually taken 8 days? Or did you only just order?

At least they told you - t doesn’t seem unreasonable timescale at this time of year, who knows what their staffing is like over the holiday, who knows what courier agreements they have. It may well take that long. And they told you.

And it may arrive sooner.

And if you need at soon, I agree - don’t use Tredz! But I will still not see them inafite for slowtime needs.

I have used Tredz quite a lot in the past few months. They came up cheapest and then give you an extra £5 off every order.

My new front wheel arrived today. Took 2 weeks but after 1 they sent an email apologising for the delay.

I was happy to wait and very happy with the price I paid. I've bought wheels, tyres and body armour recently. All other orders took about a week to arrive.

I bought a bike from Tredz on a Friday and it was delivered the following Monday. The packaging looked a bit hurried and the front mech wasn't set up.

I ordered a few bits on Christmas Day..... Arrived today after a delay with TNT due to reduced staff & social distancing at depots.

TBF they do state if the item is with the supplier now. If it’s in stock it usually is.

I think that is what they are saying happens but your 'usually' doesn't help. It is either in stock or it isn't.
I would never use them for anything I need quickly but would take a punt if they had an item I could not find easily, it was cheap and it was not urgent.
Sad to say if I need anything urgently I buy it via Amazon Prime as I will get to the next day.

I've ordered a few bits from Tredz recently. Well priced and arrived within the week. My last order had disc pads which were in stock at the manufacturer, not Tredz. Told me this on website but I was happy to order so did so. They emailed to ask if I wanted the pads sent out separately or wait until the order was complete. I opted for the complete option. Again it arrived within the week. I don't have an expectation of next day/immediate delivery though, seems to be the normal expectation now, I give five days and rarely disappointed, especially around current circumstances.  I find them good for workshop tools. No issue with the company at all. Will continue to use.

Dispatch times can be a bit variable as mentioned, if you are prepared to wait the prices can be very good.

God help you if you have an issue though. The customer service is appalling took over two months to resolve an issue that should have taken a week or two. And yes, I am factoring in the pandemic and all the reduced staffing that brings.

i won’t use them again.

I just looked on the website, everything I clicked on stated as in stock, despatched within 6-7 days, so thats a 24 hrs improvement, but thats still a week gone by before Royalmail etc get hold of it, who's doing the packing, Julie walters character from the 2 soups sketch.

I find Tredz good to be honest. They provide information on when dispatch will be and dealt with the one issue I had quickly and efficiently - I asked them to delay a delivery as I would not be there. It was sent out before the dispatch time on the website stated. They reposted it when it was returned to them.

Not had any issues with them myself. A few years ago I had warranty issues in some pedals which they also sorted quickly and efficiently. I’ve currently put in an order in and so, based on experience, expect that to go well.

I imagine they are just having a well earned Christmas break. Expect they’ve shut up shop til 4th Jan. Seems fair enough to me. We did the same and people have been pretty understanding about dispatch times

You’ve always got the option to go for a faster delivery.

Royal Mail collects parcels now. So that’s got to have impacted their logistics...even Xmas cards taking ages to arrive, etc.

Tredz’s tracking data can be a bit vague. It’s never clear whether it’s in the hands of tnt or the Royal Mail.

But it arrives, eventually.

Though you may ‘sweat’ a few Maltesers in the interim.

yer as above use them lots, never the quickest, but then they do advise of this, and things do turn up as expected and spot on.

Tredz is somewhere I only order from if there is no rush, as it either arrives, arrives after a decent delay, or never arrives and you just get an email instead.
