Have to get a bike box to post office at 9. It's half a mile and will not fit in car. Any ideas?

Make a shoulder strap out of a loop of gaffer tape fixed to the box ends. Should be easily enough sorted and strong enough to carry a box for a bit.
Get the Parcelfarce to collect it?
Black cab, they slide in across no problem, otherwise MTFU and carry it 🙂

Did you try folding the back seats down?
You could always just rope it to the roof?
I drive an rx8. Am now outside post office with 5 minutes to spare after balancing on pedal and walking the lot down. Worked a treat. Held the weight forward with left hand on bars. 🙂
