Hi folks,
My custom-designed Chinese Titanium hardtail frame is on its way over to me in NZ and I'm in the process of buying the bits. To that end, I have a few questions about experiences with various transmission options.
I've got a Hope Pro4 with XD freehub (I got a stellar price) and I'm thinking of putting the SunRace CSMZ91X 10-50T cassette on it. I'm going to be running a single ring at the front. I have a Shimano RD-M8000-SGS hanging around, but from what I read it sounds like this won't work - is that right?
At the moment, I'm thinking of ordering the XT RD-M8100 rear derailleur and the XTR SL-M9100 shifter (with the caveat that getting parts over here can be problematic). Is this a combination that will work? Is the SRAM (GX, I guess) a better bet?
An extension to this question: given that I already have an XD freehub, is it worth considering sticking to 11-speed?
I'd just assumed 12-speed was a good choice - feel free to disabuse me of this notion.
