Was riding Coed y Brenin last Wednesday on a unicycle? Made my day!

I'm sure there's a guy on the fatbike Facebook page that takes his daughter out on her unicycle.

Years ago we went to Mabie, setting off I thought there was a particularly tall chap ahead, when we caught him up he was on a unicycle. Apparently he could do the red route on it.

@Z1ppy first reason that comes to mind would be the drastically differing speeds of a unicycle vs other traffic, making it just as dangerous as trail dog ****ers and people walking/running on mtb trails. Absolutely fine on bridleways, but on dedicated MTB tracks I have a real problem with non-mtb traffic for safety reasons of both parties. If I break a collarbone because someone came off in front of me, that's a bad day and unlucky, but I can live with it (as I'd imagine could someone falling and getting hit by the next rider). If I break a collarbone because someone was arsing about on a unicycle or riding with a dog that's not under control, then that's an entirely avoidable bad day and I'd be very annoyed.

I take it you aren't happy with young kids or beginners riding at trail centres too? What about people much faster than you? Is it ok if they think you are just "arsing about" and shouldn't be there?

Young kids/beginners are fine. If on a trail that suits their level. If it's their first go I'd expect them to stick to the blues/greens, surely that's obvious? If someone is bimbling down a red/black at 3mph then we've got a problem. THATS THE POINT OF THE GRADING!

No it isn't.  Grading is for technical difficulty not speed.

wrong I am afraid - if you cannot avoid a slow rider then you are in the wrong.

Oh dear, didn't realize it would be contentious. Tbf I think it was the blue plus he looked faster than me so fair play to him... 😉

Not really, I think I'd be mightily pi$$ed off if I crashed and you came ploughing in to me.
