Hello. Pondering a Tranny Repeater. Any real-world experience out there? How is living with those long chainstays? Anything to consider in the spec, whichever you got? Thanks.

I love transition bikes, but the use of the shimano motor, lack of network and high cost makes it a poor choice these days, inflation and exchange rate has also made them even more expensive
Interesting. @argee I have a good dealer near me, currently offering a brilliant deal on a base-level Repeater. Are Shimano motors that bad? Or is the servicing?
@5lab That's a good point. I'd only considered gear cable and brake hose, both of which terminate outside the bike. Droppers can be awkward enough on acoustic bikes. Even with the access port near the BB, routing that cable on my SB130 was a PIA.
It's the lack of servicing of the shimano motors and the small numbers Transition will be using make them a minor customer for shimano.
If you can get a good deal on one then go for it, the price rises for Transition due to exchange rate and inflation are scary, but if you can get one for a reasonable price, grab it, hopefully Shimano will see sense in the near future and allow parts to be ordered by 3rd party repair centres, these eMTB motors are basic technology that we've used for a generation or more, so not exactly hard to repair if you can get the parts and run a diagnostic on it.
