Hi chaps.
Found a crack on my 2012 bandit swingarm and i bought it second hand.
Tried to get a warranty claim via the first owner and failed due to lack of help/out of warranty.

Anyway all i want to do is buy a new rear end and its just about impossible !

Can anyone help please?

Cheers.

Have you spoke to surfsales? They replaced my bandit frame after transition washed their hands of me.

I think it's Windwave who are now the importers rather than Surfsales.
Hope you can get it sorted. Transition normally have a good reputation for helping owners - have you contacted them directly?
Awesome bikes. Hope you get yours fixed soon.

Not sure about the good reputation of transition the paint fell off my swingarm and when I got in touch they said it didn't affect the performance of the bike!

This is interesting,I'm thinking of buying a transition and I'm wondering what the after sales are like, especially as they don't have a hq in the uk.
H4MUF did you crash it,how long after you bought it did you notice the crack, bit shady if the previous owner knew about it?

Thankfully I've never had to test out their warranty but on mtbr etc they seem to have a good reputation.
I have a Covert, a Bandit and a Transam, all of which have been faultless so far.
I've only ever seen one broken Transition - a mate cracked the frame on his Bandit but he's broken almost every bike he's ever had. Transition sorted it no problem.

"Scrap" is a bit strong. A wee gusset welded on there and away you go

Windwave has just taken over the distribution from Surf Sales and they've always been really helpful in the past with Marzocchi.

Have you contacted Transition directly? As Lars has always been helpful

Spoke to WW and surf sales and Transition UK.No one can help me.

Eighteen bikes are trying to contact transition direct but I don't hold much hope.

Lars deals with all the Warranty.
Not being the original owner = No.
when I dealt with all the Warranty for Transition no proof of purchase, (usually shop you bought from could help) then Transition unlikely to help.
I spoke to OP on phone & sadly don't have any 26" spare chain stays.
Try Windwave.....

Shame there's no 26inch Bandit swingarms in the world lol!

None in the US or UK.
Anyone fancy a front triangle for spares?

Cheers to everyone who tried to help.

FWIW If they sold 26 Bandits I'd probably buy one, classic example of how moves to different wheel sizes results in lost sales in some cases. Also frustrating as spare parts not available !

OP just get it welded ?

I am surprised people think they'll get a warranty replacement for a mountain bike which gets a huge amount of abuse, you wouldn't get a replacement part for a car under similar circumstances (ie smashed around off road, not subject to annual service inspection etc)

I got a frame from them no problems - crash replacement.

But if they don't have a spare swing arm they cant replace it. They are not going to make one just for you.

However, get it welded up. Cost you a tenner at the local fabrication shop - simple.

Disappointed for you bud but not surprising based on how I was treated. And I had the advantage of the proof of purchase.

Find a decent aluminium welder and get it welded properly.
