Full and detailed results here, including all Special Stages:

Interestingly, Jérome Clementz (winner) only got the quickest time on 3 of 24 Special Stages, and on 1 of 7 Days.

T-P 2011 ranking by Special Stage Wins:
VOUILLOZ (11)
BAREL(5)
CLEMENTZ (3)
WEIR (3)
CRUZ (1)
RYAN (1)

T-P 2011 ranking by Day Wins:
VOUILLOZ (3)
BAREL (2)
CLEMENTZ (1)
WEIR (1)

Clearly being ultra-consistent, never that far behind, and in a position to pounce at the right time earned Clementz the overall win.

TSY - who are you in real life? 😉 Glad you enjoyed the week...

I don't believe that Clementz had any major issues, definitely no punctures.

I came just outside the top 20 😉 , just...

I think no mechanicals / punctures is key. My crahses in day 1 and 2 took there toll towards the end of the week... slower riders caught up with me but equally, faster riders sufferred punctures / crashes and mechanicals.

Next time, I'm using a chain guide.

Quiet and understated... plus I'm frustrated at the amount of time I lost with dropped chains 😡

Not too bad for my first time of Alpine riding though.

Yep well done TSY thats some seriously good riding there

It was that training at the Nevis Range that really helped I'm sure 😉

Nice one Alan, didn't realise it was your first time in the Alps. A very strong ride (or indeed 7 rides ;))

who's alan?

do you think a chain guide would've saved you the 9minutes and 20seconds over the whole week needed to get 20th?

LOL! Nice one! mangoridebike... even the black run on a hardtail wasn't adequate prep!

My other top tip for the TP... ride switchbacks, ride them again, ride them faster, ride them with steps and drops in the middle of them, find steeper ones, find scarier ones, ride them all. I dream switchbacks!

Ash - slightly OT... can you advise on an Alps trip for a novice rider / mixed skill group?

Phil - I reckon it could've saved me up to half an hour.

TSY - I can't believe you thought doing this event without a chain guide was an OK idea.

Flippin' noobs! 🙄
