Alright, its a "what tyres for" thread.
On Sunday, along with Supersessions9-2 and our mate James, I'm doing the Trans-Cambrian Way in a one-er (read all about it here). We're not aiming for a record, just completion in about 16 hours. Daylight would be nice.
Anyway, with all this dry weather, I'm wondering if I should take off my Bonty XR4 TI tyres which are brilliant and grippy, and use my Panaracer Rampages, which are fast on dry trails but frankly rubbish if its sloppy. Or I could go for my 70a Maxxis Advantages.
Any suggestions from anyone who knows the trails on the route?
So it was you who jinxed the weather!!
If it rains then there'll be crap bits no matter what tyres you've got on ๐ I'd settle on something fairly fast rolling and worry about lack of grip as and when. Possibly the most 'iffy' part of the route comes towards the end and the descent off Foel Fadian ... if it's wet no tyre will make that an easy task.
