This is on of the guys doing the red on Sunday
Looking good, what did you think of the trail?
Was a cracker of a day, so much so, that I had to hide indoors yesterday for fear of being sold to the knackers as a pork scratchin with sunburn galore!!
Bear in mind it's a work in progress~ since this video, there is already 2 more berms and a few extra kickers, plus repositioning of a couple of the existing ones for more flow ~ also sorted the loose stuff; been a busy boy today!!
Is it OK if I link to the video on [url=
Oooh, now that looks good.
Sandy & I called in at Glencoe on Monday on our way home from 10 Under, and were chatting with some of the guys about getting the tandem up on the chairlift. They reckoned it was a goer (unlike the less accommodating staff at Nevis Range), and after seeing that, it all looks comfortably tandemable.
Only hiccup is that Sandy is having her gall bladder removed tomorrow, so will be off the tandem for a few months. Certainly something for her to look forward too!!
Rob
You not get the number of that stoker that you were talking to??
He seemed keen!
Hope Sandra gets on ok tomorrow bud.
That looks really nice, I'll need to take a tour down there sometime.
How much is the uplift for the day?
Cheers Alan, will pass on your best wishes.
Nope didn't get the guys number, but when its gets techy there's only one stoker I'd trust, and that's my dear wife!!
Awwww!!
The guys loved it much more of a red than the Nevis range general feedback from the club was it could do with some table's and drops but its a work in progress still everybody loved the trail and planning a club trip during the summer
Tandemwarriers - I emailed the folk in charge of nevis range and they said they would try to put the tandem on if I let them know ahead of time
Looks great - a long descent too, great stuff. Any idea of when it'll be finished?
thinking of heading up on saturday.. what cost is involved?
Awesome... I'm going a week Saturday 🙂
Normal price is £25 day pass, £15 half day, £10 single
Special offer on 7th and 8th June with £20 day pass and £15 Junior day pass.
It's riding sweet as is~ it's unlikely to ever be completely finished, because I'm a total perfectionist and sculpt everything just so with a teaspoon, but it's been significantly tweaked from the video already~ come ride and see how it improves yet more through the day!!

Cheers TJ. They just looked at us gobsmacked when we asked and mumbled something about having to use the cargo gondola.
There's one 180 degree left hairpin on the boardwalk that a tandem physically won't fit round, but other than that it'd be tough on the steep rock sections but a goer in the dry. I came off on the solo on the last boardwalk section after a wee bit of drizzle turned it into a skating rink, so I'd feel very iffy about the tandem unless it was nice & dry.

n00b here....
I ride a £5-600 entryish hardtail with a 100mm Tora fork and I'm heading down this way at the weekend; how doable is this (or any of the other routes) with such a machine?
cheers!
actually scrap that post: it's downhill red as opposed to TC red! Im still recovering from a broken ankle in Feb.....
For whatever it's worth, I'd happily do the Nevis Red on a 100mm xc hardtail, as long as it had decent tyres on anyway, and most folks seem to agree the glencoe one is easier.
(I had a great day on Nevis Red the day before the official opening on my old Soul, and the descent was covered with people on Offbeat's crappy XC hire bikes. Albeit quite a few of them were bleeding 😉 )
right I'll be there on the 8th then...
Tandem warriers - I think I still have the contact details so if yo want to do it let me know
Looking at the pic, I reckon whilst building the berm today, my subconscious must've been inspired by the Buchaille.
Another cheeky feature lurking on the hill:

Heading up tomorrow. Really looking forward to it.
counting the sleeps... do I need a ful facer and body armour to ride the red? or will they let me on in my pisspot?
Full face recommended, but pisspot allowed.
ah ok... I'll only be taking it easy anyway. got a drive up form Brum on the 7th.
Really liked the trail. Way tougher than it looks in the video. It's rough, steep in places and pretty relentless. Brake woes made for a frustrating day for me but I'll definitely be back. The place was deserted. Couldn't have been much more than a dozen of us on bikes.
Quick edit of a few of the many new features from middle of last week~ more added since!!
