I am still running my Maxxis Medusas 62a 2.1s
Since I am no longer drowning in mud out on the trails I need something else. I still want something that can cope when it rains though.
Most of my riding is in woodland/moors there are plenty of rocks and roots involved. Bikes a 120mm SS HT 26er
BTW 2.1 vs 2.35 what are the advantages disadvantages of each?
Cheers
I've just swapped out my 2.0 Dirty Dan mud tyres for Conti Rubber Queen 2.2 Black Chili front and Nobby Nic 2.25 rear. First indications are that they're a great combo - plenty of grip from the front and the Nic spins up nice as fast and isn't too draggy.
Ran 2.2 Rubber Queens front and rear last year until I ripped out a sidewall on the rear on some barbed wire. Gutted. They were great but I think I prefer the Nobby Nic on the back as it's a bit lighter and quicker.
The Hans Dampf that I bought for use in the mud is serving pretty well in the dry and dustry trails, as is the Baron on the rear. think I'll leave them on for now and see how they behave in the snow.....
2.2" Black Chilli Rubber Queen up front, and a 2.25" Maxxis Crossmark out back, perfect combo for now IMO.
