In fairness to the front bloke, it must be hard to concentrate on a trail with somebody buzzing yer arse and shouting a commentary. Whether or not he knows the trail, he needs to concentrate hard to keep himself safe and all the more so if he's to spot a place to stop and let cameraguy through

Both riders are ****s but no need for the assault, totally over the top.

Chubby Bumblebee Man (CBM) could have more considerate and moved to the side of the trail when he had a chance, thus diffusing the situation before things escalated.
Gnarr Camera Boy (GCB) really needs to think his actions through a bit more. It's riding bikes ffs, doesn't appear to be a race, so if GCB had waited for a few minutes once he caught CBM up, he wouldn't have been slapped by CBM and avoided the entire episode.

Both riders were just thinking about themselves and if presented with the same scenario again I bet both riders would do things differently. Doesn't hurt to be considerate of others.

Great viewing though. ๐Ÿ™‚

As with the numerous car vs cyclist vs pedestrian vs horse vs dog walker incidents everyone just needs to to act with a bit on common sense and consideration instead of (mis)quoting laws and common practice.

That's very true. Most problems out on the trails, hills, roads, or wherever, are down to an individuals arrogance and belief that they have right of way.

It's not difficult to slow down a bit.....for either of those two riders....and it wouldn't be a big deal if the leading rider took a while to find a place where he felt it would be appropriate to let someone past.

Can't see how it's dangerous. It's only dangerous when you have some arrogant fool hanging on to your back wheel.

Guy behind caught the guy mid-trail not right at the start so hardly like he'd set off right behind him and hassled him all the way. And he started out pretty chilled and asked to pass - bloke in front refused despite plenty of good opportunities. I'd have been pretty darn pissed too!!

So you pull over, give the bloke in front a bit of space and, guess what?! Another bunch of slower riders come through. Better wait another 5 minutes... Oh look, it's a trail centre - more slower riders. Better just give it a few more minutes... etc etc etc. You'd be there all day waiting for a clear run.

Block in front was a total and utter knob.

The great advantage of such places is that they perform a great job of collecting 90% of the bell-ends on bikes in one easily avoidable location.

To my ears the guy at the back says quite clearly

"I can't overtake you, do you want me to just run you off the trail?"

At about 3.30 when he runs into Bumblebee why didn't he just hang a left and continue on down the trail?

I think if you're going to threaten people and intimidate them then there's sometimes consequences, especially when testosterone is involved. I don't think either party has covered themselves in glory here.

Personally I'll always move over on the trail. I've had lots of practice being a fat, middle-class engineer on a nice bike ๐Ÿ˜‰ I do it because I'm a nice guy and I care that other people are enjoying themselves too. But if you ride up behind someone who isn't a nice guy and you act like a tool, there's no fluffy bunny at the end of the rainbow ๐Ÿ™

To paraphrase one of the greatest monologues in cinematic history:

This is what happens when dicks **** assholes ๐Ÿ˜†

You're on it.

The slower rider should have given way, but obviously the guy with the camera was a dick and antogonising.

Has anybody actually listened to the vid? When they had the first coming together bumble bee is getting out of the way. Camera boy decides, instead of carrying on along the trail, to ride into him and says "what are you doing?" Bumble bee says "letting you past." So instead of carrying on down the trail camera boy does a little loop and comes out behind bumble bee.

Bumble bee shouldn't have hit him but I bet most of us would have come away moaning about it on here to be told that camera boy should have been owned with bombers.

Far too much time spent alone on hillsides with sheep.

Lets face it both were in the wrong, the guy should have let him pass, but it is not camera boys god given right to get past, then camera boy does a small loop where he could have got in front of the other guy and buzzes his wheel again (how stupid is he). Then moans about the guy hitting him (if I had done that I would have half expected to get slapped). I mean camera guy must have realised early on the other guy was not for letting him past but kept on at him it was only ever gonna end one way.

what a couple of idiots. It reminded me of Nuts in May.

Its just a clash of personalities, You could remove bikes from the equation completely and similar incidents would still occur over something else equally pointless.

Loads of room to get past what's wrong with him .
Both are tools.
1 at front should have pull over to let him past IMO.
But if I had a tool sat on my back wheel gobbling off I might have not let him past.

how can folks get angry riding a bike? it's joyous experience, if you can't ride without a smile you should have your bike taken off you and be made to walk everywhere as you are obviously a miserable Charlie Uniform etc..

I don't think bumble bee is a bumble bee, he is one of a gang of giant Umpa Lumpa's who were put out round the trail round every corner just to piss the camera rider off. A proper WTF moment for camera guy when he thought he'd passed the Umpa, just to be met with another one round the next bend !

On a more serious note I thought camera guy had been quite courteous, he hadn't demanded to pass, he asks 'mind if I squeeze past mate?' and Umpa then says 'yes'. At that point Umpa should have let him through instead of trying to out run camera guy. In the same breath though I can understand the frustrations of both as there is nothing worse than having your favourite part of a trail spoiled by someone dicking you about.

You don't get this on the natural trails..... that's why I only do the centres in the winter, when the Umpa Lumpa's are hibernating !

Both riders deserve a ****ting, bumble bee got in there first unfortunately ๐Ÿ˜†

Looks like the trail has several route choices so he could have passed without anyone losing there own flow.

In an ideal world the bumble bee bloke pulls overand let's camera boy pass straight away, but its not and he,s been a d* ck tbh and no common sense
The time it took him to catch him in the first place makes me wonder if bumble bee bloke went passed him at the start while he was p*ssing about with his camera and didn't give him enough time, knowing he would catch him up.

The guy in front was a dick, end of story.

I never harass folk when i come upto them, and when i get folks behind me i slow down and let them past at the next appropriate point...common sense...non of which either of these two had.

I got held up at afan by some blokey so I stopped & let him go* as he didn't let me by

Caught him again**

And again***

Eventually he moved over, about 50 yards from the bottom ๐Ÿ™„

* yeh, as you suspect, I'm fast AND a great guy
** did I mention I'm FAST
*** I mean, like, supergnarlyfast baby !

(couldn't help thinking he was a bit of an arse though)

I'm of the opinion that he should have just let him pass in the first place, I mean is it really that difficult? (pull over caravan and let the folk who want to get there at a reasonable pace do so). The guy behind asked politely to start with but then became rude and forced the issue which was unwise. He should then have stopped and waited.

The guy in front definitely has problems and should probably see someone about them.

Hmmm,
Vintage Rock Shox gear,
Blue & orange Giro Havoc
Old school Ti HT,
I think I've found my twin.
Except I'm not so angry & the young pinner wouldn't have caught me.

Guy at the back is pinned and the **** in front can't ride for shit. He could easily have moved over when the guy said "can I get passed there" but the pleb just kept riding down getting more and more ragged. In the process wrecking the guys filming. Fat **** would't last five minutes at Whistler Bike Park with that attitude.

The guy in front looked like he was blocking camera guy on in number of places, then is riding on the ragged edge for the rest of the run just to keep camera guy behind him.

I think he needs a dropper post and some flats, then he too can rule the trail, just like mr polite yet impatient camera guy.

Just had a second watch... Yellow man is an utter knob. When camera guy does pass him yellow man takes short cut to annoy camera man! He obviously knew that the shortcut existed and did not fall in behind camera man. Hope he gets caught .
