Both blokes are utter selfish cocks and don't deserve to ride. The bloke in front should have found a place to go off to the side to let the faster rider pass, the guy at the back should have stayed further back instead of pressuring the rider in front, or should have waited a couple of minutes to let the guy finish the section. Bumblebee should have kept his temper in check.
Not sure why anyone would upload that video. " Here's a video of me being a dick, to a guy who's also a dick.".
" Here's a video of me being a dick, to a guy who's JUST TRIED TO STRANGLE ME.".
that's why
Its the camera, i swear having a camera on your helmet turn you into an idiot.
Guy in front must just have had a tiny camera (or something else)
Gobshite gets a slap, seems fair. Agree with ^ that, cameras are the devils work, remember that Scottish bloke always posting commuter incidents the camera had him looking fir them.
Except the video doesn't show any of that - there's not really any video evidence of anything taking place, other than Video Man not really having thought through the possible consequences of his actions.
Brakes - he threatens to run him off the trail - if that's not a threat then what is?
That was funny was the guy getting punched shouting for his mummy at the end ๐
The guy in front could have easily given way! instead he chose to be a complete cock and take the piss, what's the point in giving him a 60 seconds head start when you've already caught up with him?
He's moving slower so should simply move out of the way, if he had gotten off his bike after doing that and started being mouthy to me, I would have ditched my bike and gear and gone at it tooth and nail!
if that's not a threat then what is?
for the front rider's response to be proportionate it would have to be a lot worse of a threat than that
Shit on shit actions.. Pretty much agree with all of the above that both parties look like idiots. Although turning round and doing that to camera guy is just idiotic.. Funny when the camera man tells him it's all on video and he turns round to one back and get it..
Its a bit of handbags, the "he tried to strangle me with my helmet" is bullshit, lets face it he called being prodded in the chest assault. Its a shame the media have just published his side of the story and not pointed out what a mouthy obnoxious cock he is.
And I thought trail etiquette was to make allowances for slower riders, not try and harass them off the trail.
It's just like a real life version of a big hitters thread ๐
no-one comes out of it looking good and those not involved just shake their heads and giggle.....
Assault is assault. Selfish guy with no trail etiquette was itching for a fight, went straight for the camera to cover up his crime. Attacked twice, second time throwing the rider to the ground. We all have to deal with insults in our lives, we don't resort to violence.
Guy in front is a tool, move over if somebody faster wants to come through.
Bloke behind should have just waited a minute and not started saying such stupid things once it was obvious bloke in front wasn't going to let him round, bloke in fronts clearly a very angry man!! As if the guy wearing the camera actually released this, if I had footage of me starting an argument then screaming like a small girl when the other person turned on me I don't think I'd post it on the Internet!!
Video evidence that a camera on your helmet turns you into a cock. And you are able to find other cocks to film with ease.
No need for that sort of behaviour out on the trials. But if you go out looking for trouble, don't squeal for your mum when you get your arse kicked.
trail centre's for ya.. ๐
quality that
That's the Port Hills above Christchurch, I've ridden there, it's ace. And it is by no means a trail centre, and not generally busy.
I disagree with the "slower rider should pull over" - except in a race of course where you definitely should, it's the rules.
Public park, no way, it's just riding, guy behind can stop and make a gap if he cares so much.
However people towing caravans should always pull over, in fact should only be allowed to drive between midnight and 4am, especially if they are Poms.
Lets look at the facts .
Bumblee is on a HT .
Bumblee does not have 720mm bars
Bumblee does not have bolt trough forks
Bumblee is wearing Lycra , and its simply wrong
Bar Ends , well
Bumblee is not carrying a small bike shop in his Camalbak
Is not running 2 x 10 !
So riding an inferior bike makes you angry
Did he get dressed in the dark?
Its amazing he is still able to ride at all .
Peter Pansy is obviuosly gnarl core . He can jump, corner and is rad to the sic max .
Tubster Bumblee takes offence and dishes out some fist pie .
Tis is what happens when dicks collide
testosterone and two dicks collide.
In my experience - if you catch someone up and ask politely 99% of the time they'll let you through.
If you catch someone up and start giving them a hard time and being a rude cock they're purposefully hold you up.
The guy with the camera was in the wrong. I don't care how good you think you are at riding you don't have the right to tell others to get out the way.
Fat people are always angry
Not all of them, just those who like beer, tattoos and footy... It's short people you need to look out for ๐
The fat bumblebee should have pulled over, that's basic etiquette in any situation where you have people moving at different speeds (other than racing of course). Still, the chap with the camera should have backed off once he realised he had a selfish idiot in front.
Both guys were being really inconsiderate and it just escalated into willy waving and violence. Thankfully never seen anything this bad at UK trail centers. Often get the odd rear tire buzzers but it's best to just pull over and be rid of them, rather that get all worked up.
Oh dear...will watch again later with sound..
3:19 Why does he not just go past him? Perfect opportunity. Instead he chooses to loop back on the trail to end up behind him again? Bumblebee guy was blocking the trail to the right so he could have cruised by end of story...
fat bumblebee deserves a prize..
peter pansy didn't have the skillz dem to pass so he provoked a fight to vent his frustration..
end result - he got his arse handed to him all round.. it's people like him that give our sport a bad name.. embarrassing.. he should take up road riding.. ๐
Both were idiots but the ending is brilliant, proper lol moment. Camera noob starts shouting about about assault after being pointed at, does exactly the same then gets battered. As others have said cameras do seem to make people worse. There appeared to be plenty of places where the track split to overtake and the slower guy managed to get ahead of him again as well.
...and of course, we've not seen Camera Man, so he could be a lycra wearing chubby as well - he may well even be wearing a lycra and body armour combo that merits some serious fist pie irrespective of his "elite rider left" shenanigans.
Confused? At 3.25ish the older lucra clad timid and respectful guy goes the wrong and our intrepid hero carries on the correct trail. Then if my confrontational magic he reappears in front of him again?
Anyway for all those who don't like cycling, only fighting then this is the link straight to the Pokemon battle
I love the way bumblebee man covers the camera at the end while laying the smackdown.
In court later: "No your honour, he just fell off his bike. I didn't touch him."
Both in the wrong FWIW, but why on earth did gnarrdude think it would be a good idea to post his humiliation on the internet?

This^
No idea why he didn't just take the obvious shortcut to carry on with his gnarr crusade and avoid the whole ugly episode. Yes, bumblebee was being a chump but Gnarr boy really was asking for it. The equivalent of poking a Doberman with a sharp stick to move it out of the way and crying when it tuns and chews your arm off.
Testosterone and adrenaline got the better of them both, but gnarr boy obviously feels public humiliation is worth it in order to track down the perp to dish out the comeuppance..
I am probably late on this discussion.
But the guy following very politely asked to pass by. For those that say he should have stopped and waited a few minutes, think of it from the followers point of view, if he speeds down and then re meets with the guy in front there is more chance of an accident when the guy in front could just have let him go and each are much better off.
And as for throwing him to the ground twice and from what it sounds like kicking/ hitting him it was completely unnecessary.
The guy following was a bit of an idiot, but not nearly as much as people are saying, I bet anyone here would let a faster rider pass by to avoid accidents
Camera guy was bound to be dressed like a plump power ranger, it would have probably taken a nuclear strike to cause him any damage. But at least bumblebee guy tried.
I think his words were "I'm going to ride you off the trail"?mattamomo - Member

Guy with the camera is a bully.
Maybe he'll think twice before trying to intimidate anyone else out on the trail.
I think his words were "I'm going to ride you off the trail"?
Was that before or after the guy in front ignored him, slowed him down to the point accidents were likely to occur etc
He says that yes, but more for the fact he is trying to highlight the point that the slower guy is likely going to cause an accident, its not a threat, its just him trying to get his point across. He didn't resort to violence or even anything remotely aggressive
slower riders should always make way for faster riders, within reason. its the best way for everyone to enjoy trails at their own pace.
for a few seconds of inconvenience both can carry on at their own pace.
if faster riders always had to give the slower riders a head start, there would be a que at the start of every bit of single track. I know English people love a good que, but can you imagine a busy trail centre, the indignant tutting would be deafening!
gnarr boy is a bit of a plonker, but bumble bee at fault imo
How can he even do that if the guy at the back is giving him enough space?mattamomo - Member

That is where etiquette comes into it, if the guy is slower then he simply needs to move over.
Its the same with tractors on roads (I know strange example) but they have to move over to allow others past.
If I am out on the roads and a few cars are behind, I don't provoke them to dangerously overtake, I just allow them to pass because its not worth risking accidents or anything more serious.

Errmmm - nope - surely its up to the faster rider to ride fast without causing incidents. Its is polite to let them past when convenient - and I often do but its on my terms when I can without spoiling my ride

Seems to work fine IME
There wasn't many obvious places to stop and let someone passed, there were however places where the track split and the faster rider could have overtaken if he had been half as awesome as he believed he was.
thread should be retitled "tit and arse video"

So that's a yes then. Let faster riders through when safe and convenient to do so. It works everywhere because it the best thing to do, if you don't let them past it's unsafe and unfair. It's no difference to Skiing / Snowboarding, the onus is on the rider above but those below should always be aware to the possibility of a faster rider coming past and ride accordingly.
As with the numerous car vs cyclist vs pedestrian vs horse vs dog walker incidents everyone just needs to to act with a bit on common sense and consideration instead of (mis)quoting laws and common practice. Something bumble bee man and gnarr man could both do with.
Very little in this world is black and white.
