Nah, he's just taking it easy (or he's rubbish, one or the other!), given that Geraint Thomas has just put in the 2nd best time. 🙂

I'm trying to watch this on ITV4's website, but after sitting through the ads I just get 'file not found'. Anyone else having better luck?

wiggins 45 sec down on (current*) lead time of just over 10 min - better hope that's because he's totally ready for the mountains, or he's toast

*Tony Martin - a bit of a monster 😯 , wonder what old sportacus can do about him

What a ride by Cancellara! That man is so good, maybe it's his motor 😉

Lance is looking very good, should be a very good tour.

Part of the motor innit. Not seen it but a few of the riders have custom plates on the jockey wheels to make it more aero.

Why's the commentator on about a battle between Contador and Armstrong, there was a guy between them on the podium last year.

Got to admit I was a bit dissapointed with Wiggins. Not being biased because I'm Welsh, but did you see how fast ( in the wet ) and skinny Geraint Thomas was !! Perhaps a change of team leadership is in order.

i thought the prologue results didn't actually count in the general classification, or am i completely wrong?

Wrong it does count and the yellow jersey wearer from the prologue quite often keeps it through the first few sprint stages based on that time in the prologue

Yes but Cancellara loses time going up hills. Trouble is he's quick down then and awesome at timetrialling.Luclkly he loses lots more time in the high mountains

He's only lost 29 seconds to the man that matters.

Which is pretty bad for someone of his ability in a TT but not a disaster.

He was just holding back - no point sliding out on the 1st day, there's 3 weeks to come!

It's not bad if he has trained to sacrifice top end power to gain climbing speed though as the tour is won and lost in the high mountains

He just said that he was going slow on the corners so he didn't loose time with a crash.

No it's 29 seconds to Contrador and a little more to Armstrong. He lost a minute to Cancellara who will be nowhere come the mountains as he'll be working for the Schleks.
