[Closed] Torn shoulder - Rest, Exercise or MTFU?

In one of my few non-bike related injury I managed to hurt my shoulder. I was stood in what I believe is called a goal while some strange men kicked a pigs stomach (removed from the animal) at me. At one point I had to extend my arm fully above my head to stop the 'ball'. Unfortunately it didn't stop but pushed my arm backwards so my shoulder made funny noises and hurt.

Sell medicated with a few pints of Brakspears Triple Drop last night. Today it hurts to raise my elbow above shoulder height. I am guessing at some bruised and tender muscles.

Do I exercise gently to help them recover, rest the arm completely for a few days or MTFU and finish painting the garage floor?

Did the bladder cross the line?

Brakspear Triple is a mighty fine ale. I think if you drink a few more, you'll be cured ๐Ÿ˜†
Serious though, I think rest is the best thing for strained or torn muscles. Put you feet up for the day.

If it don't settle in a few days get to your docs - the shoulder is a complicated joint and much can go wrong with it

'done' my shoulder 3 weeks ago today, much better than it was but still sitting here on the sofa watching TV, internettin, drinking too much and getting bored! I think another couple of weeks at least before its better.
Rest, easy movement and rest required (im not a doctor mind!)

20 mile gentle ride around the New Forest turned into a 40 mile ride because the weather was nice. Possibly a mistake on a fully rigid SS.

Good news - the trails were dry
Bad News - I am out of Triple Drop
Good new - I have found a bottle of Sloe Gin while painting the garage floor
Bad News - I now have 'Empire Green' feet, knees and elbows as I crawled across the floor to get it.

I recommend a rather large dose of industrial strength MTFU.
