Bought my new bike in december didnt ride that month due to snow/ being soft so have had 4 months use at a ride a week some weeks 2 rides max!
Now there is a knock when lifting the rear end up and down as if there is play in there somewhere!
all bolts are fine no problems there! surely carnt be worn bushes yet? and at £100 for a rebuild kit dont want to do that every 4 months!
Should i complain to tomac or there distributer?
I understand that things wear out but this seems a little rapid?
Maybe find out what is actually wrong, go back to the/a shop, then go from there?
Most likely to be a shock bushing, some bikes eat them for a hobby, usually cost about £12.
You should determine the cause and then take it from there! I would check the shock bushes first, lift the back end of the bike up by the saddle and put one of your fingers next to or up against the meeting bpoint between shock and bush, then simply feel for play or knocking.
This works for most bikes but I'm not sure of the design on yours.
Good luck finding the cause, most if the time it's something simple.
As suggested above, it's very likely that it's just the shock bushings which do wear pretty fast on some bikes/shocks (particularly if the alignment isn't great). The good news is that they're pretty cheap to replace.
As above, it's almost certainly shock bushes but just check the seat and seatpost as well.
Shock bushes are not expensive £5 from your lbs.
