According to the BBC website, the MTB XC race is on at 07:00-09:00 this coming Monday. Anyone know if that is UK time or Japanese time? If UK time, is it going to be on the tv (which channel, if it is?)?

Cheers.

15:00 Japan time. No idea about TV coverage. Never found watching cycling races interesting.

It'll be on the BBC, I'm sure. Timings work great, I'll watch over breakfast before the meeting kick in WFH!

Thanks...that'll hopefully fit in perfectly for a wee break after the first 2 hours of work on Monday.

Have they actually confirmed they're not cancelling the whole thing yet?
They weren't certain yesterday.

I thought it would probably be Boardman but not listed here...

I cant see Chris Hoy or Vicki P having much to say about XC!?

I cant wait to watch but as ever, I'm sure the coverage unfortunately wont quite be as well put together, or as expertly and entertainly commentated on as the UCI series is on Red Bull!

Tokyo MTB course video

Gnarly in places, and very off camber nightmare in others if it rains.

F me……love to see the course profile - that looks brutal. Off camber, tech & some seriously steep ramps. Oof!

Have they decided how many laps the races will be yet? Something like 180m ascent in 4km each lap and not many places to rest - ouch.

Will be interesting to see who BBC & Eurosport/GCN have commentating/ summarising. Doubtful it will be an MTB expert, so have to endure road/track experts showing how little they know....

If it even gets shown on bbc, there was a thing on the rights in the guardian and bbc can only show two sports at once so if there is anything else going on with greater public interest then we won’t see it
