Well someone must like them. I had one of the first Inbred 29ers for all of three weeks before it was stollen! Can't say I had it long enough to form a real impression.

I lust after a GF Superfly, Niner Carbon or one of the Singular Ti jobs. I definately see a 29er in my future as really I am more of a point to point/tourer/(not DH) enduro rider than trail centre/playing in the woods type of rider. I think for distance riding, especially if there are a few road segments to ride, that a 29er is a "better" bike.

I find mine ideal for pootling about on, canal towpaths, that sort of thing. And doing the shopping on as I have a pannier rack fitted.

Thinking about some nice full-length mudguards for Autumn.

Niner Air Carbon rides beautifully, although the ride seems equally counterbalanced by the horrendous price.

I find mine, a singular swift, excellent for woodland singletrack and long days in the hills. I've previously had a cotic soul and before that a cove hustler. The swift rides really nicely and so did they. I care little for what 'the future' of mountain biking is. All 3 bikes ride/rode nicely.

I also have a swift with drops, It rides beutifully across moorland and is more than happy in a trail centre. It just feels right for me,

Agreed, theyre great for road sections, especially with really skinny wheels on. I've heard the wheels are really bendy on them though so I stop and lift mine over speedbumps and stuff.

You'd need a frigging step-ladder, puck... ๐Ÿ˜‰

I agree with Stu, my 26er inbred only comes out to the shops or when I need flat pedals while out with the dog.

All my 5 big wheeler bikes ride so much better.

I'm selling all my big wheeler singlespeeds and going back to gears and normal wheels. turns out it was just a passing fad for me and I need to shave the beard off go back to wearing shoes not spd sandals.

Oh well think I'll have a hardcore hartail next, I've heard they're the next big thing and I do like to follow fashion ๐Ÿ˜€

Have had a 29er Inbred for over 2 years now, rode it loads at first, till the novelty factor wore off.Only ride it these days when I fancy a change tbh......

26" wheeled bikes are still better imho.....

Tazzy, pics and dibs on the beard and sandals please? How much use have they had and what type of beard?

I'll never try one.

Simply 'cos my legs are too short for a 29er, my testes sit on the top tube of my 26" bikes and my Boardman Hybrid!

I bought a rigid Gary fisher Rig a couple of months ago to try out the big wheels, love it, I find it so much more an interseting ride compared to the 26er. I'm now replacing the 26er hardtail with a 29er ๐Ÿ™‚

chainslapp, I still have to grow it for ssuk so pick which one you like from the above gallery and I'll work on developing it for you.

Alternatively I might just find an agile lady who can do a this

Hmmm I'm wondering whether to turn my SS Wanga into a rigid 2x8 69er (maybe 3x8 eventually, probably 1x8 to begin with). Fancy going back to gears for a while and a 29er front wheel would be cheaper than a sus fork and give me a little bit of smoothing on the front. I currently own a set of 8 speed XT shifter pods and front and rear mechs (though the front is probably no good as it came off a Cannondale so probably too big a clamp for the steel Wanga), have a triple compatible chainset currently running on the SS set up.

Who knows, all just speculation.

Had a Scandal for a bit and it was ace. I preferred it Rigid and SS. it was light and felt really fast and didnt hurt too much.

Spoilt it with gears and Suss forks and got itchy feet for something else in the end

Ended up with a Commencal Meta 69er out of bits. A2C was a bit wrong but it sort of worked. great for rolling over stuff and not as sluggish as you would think

Havn't got it now, of course; Would love to try a newer FS 29er though
