Get used to them first before riding one of your favourite technical descents.

Today my wrist, middle finger, elbow and shoulder are all turning a nice shade of yellow/blue from where I catapulted over the bars last night, landing some ten feet further down the trail, all because I wasn't used to the compression rate of my (otherwise fantastic) Revs compared to my shoddy Toras.

Ouch.
