Anyone know the difference between the Z Control and the Z?

Look very similar, weight is only 5 g difference but Z is £15 cheaper.

I've got pairs of both - differences are mostly cosmetic. Machined bits on pedal body and chrome plated axle on the Z Control. No different in use or in longevity.

Looks like the cheaper Freeride it is then.

Have got fed up with constantly servicing my Mallet Cs

I think the machined bits were supposed to make the pedal body more grippy. YOu could just take a file to the standard ones and rough them up a bit. I have the standard ones and find them grippy enough, though I'm rarely not clipped in.

Control are supposed to be better sealed I think...
