So. Dogtag are refusing to cover my son's hernia if anything happens on our holiday in France, even though it is an annual policy. So we cannot go abroad.
We've decided to do Scotland instead. 2 active, reasonably competent kids and pretty competent parents.
Our current plan might include:
Wolftrax
Golspie
Stag Pollaidh (on foot)
Aonach eagach perhaps ( on foot obvs)
Nevis range uplift if we're allowed without full face?)
Perhaps the achnashellach descent in Morrison if I can convince the ten year old up the hill.
Bit of kayaking in the sea perhaps
Sport climbing or bouldering maybe
Anyone got some good recommendations....
Is glencoe worth it for non downhillwrs, or is it really full on? They were ok with most red stuff on tignes last year.

I would probably ably start with this. Most of Scotland seems fully booked this year.
What. Surely not. I hadn't realised that was even a thing in Scotland.

There will be spaces, however tourism is up 20% this year, which was up on the year before. You may not get much choice.
Glen Nevis campsite is my favourite. Beautiful location and great facilities
Amazing weather for a staycation just don't forget the smidge.
Achmelvich bay campsite or clachtoll if you're up that way, if it's a nice day achmelvich is stunning and there's some kind of snorkel trail and boat trips etc, also summer isles are nice. There was a campsite at achnahaird but I'm not sure if it's still there?
If you're doing golspie I also really love Balblair, lots of rock and amazing views.
Off the NC500 route I would think you'd find some kind of campsite space even with pre-brexit staycation fever, but I wild camp so not sure. Loads of places to wild camp if your family are tolerant of not having a bog and a shower.
There are other insurance providers apart from dogtag, I have used them but thought they were expensive.
