Just got an On One Free Ranger this week and been out every day since monday And gradually got rid of all the creaks with a little bit of grease here and there only for a persistent tick from the back wheel to arise today, it ticks with every revolution wether I’m pedalling it or not but I can’t hear it when I’m off the bike and I spin the wheel, the wheel is a fulcrum racing 700 650 b wheels, can any one help, cheers

Firsty ride it up and down the street slowly in a big gear, does the noise correlate to a full rotation of the wheel or the cranks? That will help narrow it down.

If it's cranks then check the stupidly obvious: laces on cranks/frame or cranks on front mech cable if it has one.

If it's wheel then check it does it in all gears to rule out cassette, then move onto spokes etc.

Just be methodical and calm, you'll find it eventually.

I had an irritating tick that took ages to find - it was the end of the pad retaining split pin on the front caliper *fractionally* touching the spokes.

It’s not the brakes as it does it with the brakes on and it does it free wheeling and when pedalling and I would say it clicks with each rotation of the wheel

End of gear cable catching on spokes?
Had a weird once every crank revolution tick on my road bike once. It was the cable end hitting the nds crank each rotation. Tucked it behind chainstay... Cured.

I'm going for the valve collar not being screwed tight.

No valve collar on it, I took the tyre off and put it back on and the noise seems to have stopped 🤞, I have never had a bike with no valve collar on , is it possible the valve has been catching slightly on the rim and making a noise

I had one once that was a "Nipple dropped inside the rim during build"

Are all the spokes equally tight?
If you squeeze em, do any feel loose?

I had the same symptom on a Mavic Aksium on the rear of my Kaffenback. It was two spokes touching where they crossed over - I lubed every crossover point and it went away.

Get it checked for Lyme's disease, you can never be too sure.

That’ll be it I would think. Tubs seem to do this, but imagine tubes can too.

Drove me mad the first time it happened.

Just done a bit of research on other forums and it points to the valve problem, going to put collars on them until I go tubeless

We’ve got some tick drops for the dogs so I’ve rubbed some of that on the back wheel 🤞
