This is probably a stupid question, but can a thru axle hubbed wheel fit in any frame, or are the frames drop outs specific to the hub?

you can fit a 10mm thru axle into any frame
the hub width either 135, 150 or 142mmis a different matter though
most are 135, apart from on dh bikes 150 or newer ambike 142
You're looking at it the wrong way round...you get the hub to match the frame dropouts. I've never bought a frame to match a hub! 😛
Saying that a few frames have replaceable dropouts but changing those would be a more expensive option. If you already have the hub you might be able to convert it to suit the frame though? Have you a particular hub you're wanting to use?
