Anyone tried them? They look really well thought out, very tempted, but never had Shimano shoes - anyone got any idea on sizing? Are they normally sized, or smallish like Five Tens?

If anything I think Shimano are oversized. I'm a Euro 44 in pretty much everything and they all either need a thicker innersole, or thick socks for me. Although I do have narrow feet.

GF has been riding in them past few weeks, she bought normal shoes size and they fit fine (merino socks).
Her comments are... yes, waterproof but not "winterproof" like the Shimano MW type boots (MW7 or old MW80) as they are not insulated. Also, grip is poor off the bike (hike-a-bike sections).

they look nice for flat pedal road riding and touring in winter.   i have some winter waterproof covers that will fit over em nicely.

Always have gone 1/2 a size bigger with Shimano as the generally come up a little small.

I've been waiting for the larger boot version, ex900gtx, to be available (xm9 replacement) - its press release was months ago, but it seems the main UK stock is due late January.

I think the width may be the main factor. Haven't bought Shimano for about 10 years but the consensus was always that they sized up small. I've always gone at least one size up. But I have wide feet, and the issue for me is not room around the toes (where there's loads).

I really like Shimano shoes and the sizing seems to be pretty spot on for me. I'm a 44 in Shimano, Salomon and Adidas, the fit works for me.

My dressier shoes I'm a size 10 in, but for the companies above, I'm a 9.5.

I've a pair of XC100 shoes and they fit very well - but the sole isn't as comfortable for walking in as they are very much SPD shoes; I've also got a pair of ME7 shoes and these are really comfy as well. Both seem well made and function well - neither are 'fancy', but they work very well.

I've had 3 pairs of Shimano spd shoes, all fitted well, maybe half a size bigger than normal. Plenty room for my slightly wide feet (5/10s crushed them)

yep very impressed so far. far more grip from the sole than my Shimano GR7 (GR701)

comparing soles, the GR7 The GP8 appear a little narrower, but it is not noticable when wearing.

For me i default to the same size in all Shimano (48) whether for road disco slippers, or MTB. If it helps - me Shimano = EU48. Old 5Ten Size  UK12, new Adidas 5Ten UK12.5

I wonder if they've changed the sole compound.
I used to wear FiveTens and Shimano, and the Shimano were terrible for grip in comparison.
