Wife and daughter in bed and with the following day off I set off at 10pm super clear night so headed to my favourite spot which was ideally situated to do a #jennride recce. Slept in till 9.30am and the spot was bathed in sunshine so a very casual breakfast and chilled. On the road for 11 and not a breath of air the trails were dryish so headed over to Coniston way to recce some routes on Trover Common. Light was fading so a quick dash to Windermere for a chippy tea before I met up with my Wednesday night riding club who were heading up Nan Bield. Rode with them for a while before I decided against Nan Bield as legs were tired after 70 miles in the legs.Rode over the Bog of Doom to Staveley and sampled some fine ales and waited for them all to return.
At 11.00pm no sign and last orders were called so I kept the faith and ordered 8 beers and 4 pets of crisps was getting a bit worried as I had sank a few since I arrived but luckily they started appearing and I earned HERO status for one evening as they sank their well earned beers

Planning a bothy trip with my son in Kielder Forest ..(dont have the gear to wild camp or bivvy) at Easter ..we have the choice of 5 bothies all within 20 miles ..hope we get the clear skies you had as the stars will be pretty spectacular and equally the scenery in a different sort of way .
Rich - is that pic with the Langdales in the background on the west side of Woodland Fell? If so, amazed at how dry it looks.
Not rain for a few days Martin even Grizedale was dryish and Trover Common was all rideable 🙂
