I'm planning a trip to the lakes this weekend with a mixed group (riders and non riders) and was after some ideas to keep people entertained whilst I'm out riding. Given the weather looks pretty bad on Friday, anything under cover would be a bonus.

Thanks
Riofer

Where in the Lakes?

South Lakes Wildlife Park is excellent for kids and adults alike but is best on warm Summer days

If near Windermere a combination of a boat trip to Lakeside at the southern end of the lake, a visit to the aquarium and a ride on the steam train to Haverthwaite and then the boat back to Bowness.

All undercover if it's wet.

This is on the very limit of the lakes but it is different.

You can join organised walks across the sinking sand between Arnside and Grange Over Sands.

On a bad day it would be grim but other than that its a great way to spend an afternoon.

Get some lessons at a climbing wall? One in Kendal is good and I believe there is one in Keswick too.

Eat steak and drink blue bird ale in the bull at coniston then nip over the road where elvis may be on if your lucky. Well I think it was elvis or maybe just a bare nuckle boxing champion who did a good blue swade shoes. He was quite good either way.

Leave them all in Ambleside, loads of pubs, a cinema, resturants and shops, there's also a few low level walks, there's Chesters tearooms at Skelwith Bridge, The Drunken Duck AKA Barngates Brewery and if that's not good enough for them they don't deserve to be taken to the Lakes!
