Been toying (literally pie in the sky currently)with the idea of maybe having a go at the race series as something to motivate winter riding. All depending on how i get on over the summer riding. Now as i have NEVER raced etc is it suitable for a novice to enter or is it a serious race that i would be frowned upon for even turning up to ride in. Handy as its only an hour or so away.
It books up early so enter early. Mud sweat and gears is on now and the next race is at thetford this sunday.
There is no minimum standard, in fact, most people are not fast (as in, Liam Killeen type fast!). You will get a complete range of abilities and fitnesses, and in my experience, everyone is treated equally and with respect. You can take the event as seriously as you like, but be aware that others will take it seriously, so let people past if they ask, and let people know if you are passing them. You're not working hard enough unless you cannot speak, and feel sick at the end. Enter and enjoy it!
Yes go for it!
Yes, come along to the MSG event this weekend, you can enter on the day, you may want to check the mudsweetandgears website.
Otherwise our winter series goes live after Dusk til Dawn in October wth our first winter event the first weekend of November

I would recommend it, as large418 said there is a complete range of abilities and the courses are great fun.
