Bought em for a tenner off the STW classifieds over three years ago so I could test riding clipless without spending a fortune, and never looked back.
They finally died (well, fatally wounded) last week when the rubber around the cleat space peeled away.
Never cleaned, never treated with care, never thought once about em.
My kind of gear, that is.

my experience of specialized shoes is that the quality has fallen in the past couple of years 🙁
might have been a bad patch though...
