Few minor jobs done and the [s]death trap[/s] er, race machine, is ready for action! Shimmed the slipping seatpost with a bit of the boy's Strongbow can. A quality respray - matt black of course. And a sign so that everybody know what it is. It now looks like a butchers bike from Mad Max.

We even took it for a brief spin. Bloody terrifying!

Nice. I like the black paint on the wheel, reminds me of the first time I tried to respray a bike when I was young.

Good luck with it, hopefully it won't kill you.

more likely to kill and maim spectators and other riders, all it needs are some axle blades in the style of boudiccas chariots and it'll be like the pedally version of death race 2000

Hey, I resemble that remark. We spent, ooh, minutes on end spraying the bugger.

Can't make my mind up whether it is going to snap at the toptube/headtube junction or behind the front BB.
Either way it looks like it will be fun until then.
See you there.

When you see the frame in real life you realise there are far more options than that...
I am a bit concerned about the 30 minute ride to the start of the 'race'.

Whippy rear end! Take seasickness pills. It's a brave captain who selects an open mixte frame for extreme weight savings.

Relax, it (probably) won't break, but you might like to take a spare chain. Is that front hub tandem rated? I assume the rear isn't.
