Anyone got any more info on this 100mile route, thinking of doing it with the boy this summer, is there a map available yet?
Fergal, have you see n this:
http://www.cyclepad.org.uk/listing/The-Sandstone-Way
there's talk of a grand opening ride, attempting it in a one-er...
From the article on cyclepad:
its almost as if they want people to attempt it in one day... ๐Itโs almost certain some mountain bikers will try to do the whole route in a day but very few will manage especially if they ride the optional harder sections.
That looks interesting (without looking at detailed map). How easy would it be getting back from the finish to the start by train?
we ve planned this once its officially opened.
Train from newcastle - berwick - You need to book bikes on this train.
we re doing it in a day.
Train from hexham back to newcastle. - You cant book bikes on this train, but you can generally get upto 4 bikes on.
I know the guy who's setting it up well, he's helping me with the North Pennines MTB Marathon this weekend (he had the idea for that one too)
any questions, drop me an email and I'll send them on. Address in my profile.
Signs appearing.
Next to link it with the Pennine Bridleway ๐
Ahem, the South tyne trail might be a nice link 8)
I was thinking more over Hexhamshire common and beyond from hexham, but yeah, why not?
