So its the 31st of August and it seems a good time to make this post, one ive been meaning to do for a while now.

For bike related reasons and personal ones.... this Summer has been one I shall never forget.

Found someone very special..... but also had some great adventures on the bike and started to remember just how much utter fun biking can be.

Met some wonderful people out on the bike during this Summer.  People helping me after crashing a few times (!) on my mini SDW adventure.... and other riders that have been a pleasure to talk to.... and try to keep up with.

How has this Summer treated you?  For me, I will never forget it.

Great Pics mate, but I'm holding council as I'm blindly hoping for a few more late summer days in the next few weeks.

Ever the optimist.

It’s been too hot. I’ve barely ridden my bike apart from 2 weeks in the alps.

1st September, summer starts now for me. I always find sept and Oct are my best biking months, nice temperatures and quietens down after the holidays, then a bit of night riding chucked in too.

👍🏻

Wait... emojis work?! 😳

It was awesome, I’ve got a fairly rigid attitude to seasons, far as I’m concerned even though it’s 25c and fairly sunny here today, it’s Sept so it’s autumn.

Anyway back when it was snowing I came up with a list of stuff I wanted to do over summer and I think I managed about 90% of it, plus loads of just ‘normal’ riding.

No injuries, no illnesses which was remarkable in itself.

Add in a brilliant family holiday to the Alps and yeah, best summer for years.

As for the energy gels singlespeedstu.... I'm now inclined to agree! Got a bit sickly in the heat.

took ten days respite went solo wild camping with budget new old orange tent and budget new old Orange bike!

One word: ACE.

More words: dust, sun, more dust, singlespeed, mountain climbing, summit-sleeping, full-moon, water-guzzling, horsefly-swatting, BBQing,  open-water swimming, Wales, South Shropshire, sunrises, sunsets, peace, quiet, sweat and honest to goodness deep joy.  Unforgettable.

I went on the bike a lot in June and July but in August I found it hard to get out much due to the constant rain, worst of all, 3 out of 4 Sundays were heavy rain during that month. Plus a lot of mechanical problems have recently come, which always sets me back.

Malvern Rider.... Is that tent the "famous" Argos one? I used to have one. Great tents.

^. That's the one.  Always regretted sell my old one as nothing else since came close for both portability and comfort.  Luckily won a BNIB one earlier this year for around £30. They really do punch above their weight and some.  Being able to sit up and get changed when raining is probably the best thing about it along with zero claustrophobia (IME)   2kg.  40cm packed length.  Almost perfect.

^^ Thought so, such a shame Argos don't still sell them!

I got mine when they were on sale at £15. Incredible value!

You were lucky to get one for £30, bnib, as they are pretty saught after now.
