Just happened to look at the Fox website, and the 2011 forks.
There's no mention of a 32mm Vanilla any more 🙁

Just get a Float and convert it with a Van spring and preload top cap.

I've already got some 140mm Vans, which is what made me wonder....

Saw this a while ago and was gutted. I love these forks - both my bikes have them on (Heckler & 456).

Anyone know the reason why they've been dropped?

I guessing because they didn't actually sell that many?

I'll probably get abused for the next bit, so I should state that it's my opinion only.

Pikes are comparable, lower maintenance and slightly cheaper.

Most people that want coil performance also want super-strength and stiffness and therefore go for 36s, Marz 66 or Totems.

Perhaps there is a limit as to what you can sell coil and oil damping for,and still be able to look people in the eye.

I'm a bit gutted that they aren't being made any more. Just put some floats on the 456, time will tell if they are comparative

holy crap. those prices are insane

the 2011 F29s now start at £750!!! they don't look a great deal different to the 2010, that is unbelievable

in 2004 i got a set of new Vanillas for £300...

Having used both at great length, I can tell you that Vanillas are a better fork. Not much better, but better damped with a smoother action.

Less bells and whistles though. And that's what sells I'd imagine

They'll come down in price - but not quickly if the exchange rate stays the same 🙁
