I'd have loved to have been riding with him shouting that. would have cracked me up no end. that kind of thing is definitely needed at some races.
Last year doing the fort william enduro dh I kept going past a marshall at the beginning of the motorway section and he'd shout encouragement and I'd whoop back and he'd cheer and i'd WOOO HOOOO till i went out of range. made the grin on my face even bigger, even till i got past all those quiet solemn faces at the bottom of the track.
thanks to that marshall one for my clearest memories and for sending me off at full tilt down the motorway.
